WHY WE CHOOSE EARTH-FRIENDLY PACKAGING FOR TED & CO TREATS

Hey there, fellow Dachshund Parents and Dog lovers! 🐾 As we all know, keeping our furry friends healthy is a top priority. That's why, as a proud Dachshund Mum and the face behind Ted & Co, I wanted to share a bit about the packaging choices we make for our treats.

You might have heard about something called "oxo-degradable plastics." They're used in some packaging, but after digging into it, I found they're not the best fit for us and our planet. Here's the lowdown:

What Are Oxo-degradable Plastics?

Oxo-degradable plastics are a type of material that needs special conditions, like sunlight and heat, to break down. They're often used, but they're not as friendly to the environment as they might seem.

Why We Steer Clear:

Turns out, when oxo-degradable plastics break down, they leave tiny bits behind that can stick around for a super long time. Not great for our planet, right? Even though they might claim to be "degradable," the process can take ages, and those tiny bits can end up causing more harm than good.

Labels Can Be Confusing:

Sometimes, products say they're "biodegradable" or "compostable," but it's not always as straightforward as it sounds. Oxo-degradable plastics, for example, got the boot in Europe because they didn't live up to the eco-friendly promise.
